Terms of service
The terms,
in plain English.
Effective July 17, 2026
Short enough to actually read. Using Capitops means you agree to these terms.
1.The service
Capitops is operated by Capitops Technology Inc., a company incorporated federally in Canada and based in Ottawa, Ontario. In these terms, “Capitops”, “we”, and “us” mean that company; “you” means the organization using the service.
Capitops reads billing and usage data from sources you connect and turns it into one normalized view: dashboards, alerts, forecasts, exports, and savings recommendations. It is read-only by design — Capitops never modifies your infrastructure, and recommendations are suggestions you act on in your own provider’s console.
2.Your account
You sign in with a Google account or an emailed sign-in link, and are responsible for activity under your organization. Keep access to your sign-in method secure; it is the key to yours.
3.Credentials you connect
When you connect a source, you grant Capitops the read-only, least-privilege access described on that source’s connect page — and nothing more. You can revoke that access at your provider, or disconnect the source in Capitops, at any time. We store the credentials encrypted and use them only to sync your data.
4.Your data
Your spend data is yours. We use it only to provide the service to your organization — never to train models, never for advertising, never sold. You can export it as CSV at any time, and requesting account deletion deletes it.
5.Fees
Every price is public, in Canadian dollars, on the pricing page. Billing is monthly through Stripe; upgrades, downgrades, and cancellation are self-serve. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Applicable taxes are added where required.
6.The numbers are informational
Capitops derives its figures, forecasts, and recommendations from your providers’ own APIs, which can lag or restate. Your provider’s invoice is the bill of record — verify against it before making financial decisions. Capitops is a reporting tool, not accounting, tax, or financial advice.
7.Acceptable use
Don’t abuse the service: no attempts to breach or overload it, no reselling access, no connecting credentials you aren’t authorized to use, no using the free tier to run more organizations than you have teams.
8.Availability
The service is provided as-is, without an uptime SLA on current plans. We work to keep it reliable, but we depend on provider APIs that can change, throttle, or fail outside our control.
9.Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10.Ending things
You can stop using Capitops at any time, and request deletion of your account by emailing us. We can suspend or terminate an account for material breach of these terms or non-payment, with notice where reasonable.
11.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, and disputes belong to the courts of Ontario.
12.Changes and contact
Updated terms are posted here with a new effective date; material changes are emailed to account holders first. Questions: hello@capitops.com. Notices can also be sent by mail:
